Privacy Policy

tvTrek is a local‑first mobile app for tracking the TV shows and movies you watch. This page explains, in plain terms, what data the app handles and where it goes.
tvTrek has no user accounts, runs no analytics or advertising SDKs, and has no server of its own to store your data on. Everything you add to your watch list stays on your device. The only outside service the app talks to is TMDB, used to look up show and movie information.
When you use tvTrek, the following is saved locally on your device only:
None of this is transmitted to us — we have no server to send it to. It stays on your device unless you explicitly export or share it.
tvTrek uses the TMDB API to search for and display information about shows and movies — titles, descriptions, artwork, and similar metadata. When you search for or view a title, your search query and standard network request information (such as your IP address) are sent to TMDB's servers as part of that request, the same as visiting any website.
We don't control how TMDB handles that request data. Their practices are described in the TMDB Privacy Policy.
This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
tvTrek includes an optional backup feature that exports your watch list to a JSON file, created locally on your device. Sharing that file — by email, messaging, or otherwise — only happens if you actively choose to, through your device's share sheet. You can also import a previously exported backup by picking it from your device's file picker. Neither action sends anything to us.
tvTrek requests internet access, required to search for and load show and movie information from TMDB. It does not request access to your camera, contacts, location, microphone, or photos.
Because all data lives on your device, you're always in control of it. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes your watch list and all other app data. If you'd like to keep a copy first, use the export feature described above.
tvTrek is not directed at children under 13. Since the app has no accounts and no server-side data collection, we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
All network requests the app makes to TMDB are sent over HTTPS. The security of your local data also depends on your device's own security settings, such as a passcode or biometric lock.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back occasionally.
